A parent participation, or cooperative, preschool is a non-profit organization where each family shares in the planning and operation of the school. Parents participate in the program and work at the school on a rotating basis, serving as, among other things, assistants to a licensed preschool teacher.

Tuition is partially responsible for funding, but at a much lower rate than most preschools. The primary reason for low tuition is through parent’s contributions, donations, and fundraising efforts.

Junior class (first year students, 3 to 4 year olds): Tuesday and Thursday from 9am – 12 am. Optional extended days: Tuesdays and Thursdays 12pm – 2pm.

Senior class (second year students, 4 to 5 year olds): Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am – 12pm. Optional extended days: Mondays and Wednesdays 12pm – 2pm.

Long Beach Unified School District holidays and vacation periods are observed.

First year students must be 3 years old by September 2nd. Each child must be toilet trained and all childhood vaccinations must be up-to-date. Health clearance must be on file prior to the first day of school.

Parents are required to participate willingly in activities, attend monthly meetings, work at school, hold a job position, participate in fundraising activities, pay monthly tuition, have current health clearance, pass a background test, and participate in other activities as needed.
