Adriana Castanon has been a child educator who has worked with children from various backgrounds ages 2-10. In the past she taught at Reggio-Emilia and Montessori preschools. Born and raised in Long Beach, she values the diversity that the city brings and believes in recreating and celebrating that diversity with her students.
Adriana believes that a personalized connection with each child, founded in mutual trust and respect is essential in fostering growth. Each child brings a unique perspective to the Lagoon community and deserves to have their perspective highlighted through provocations and experiences tailored to their interests, skills, and goals. Adriana acknowledges the time and effort that was put into each child’s accomplishment and recognizes it is just as vital as the accomplishment itself. Adriana enjoys providing enriching experiences for the children to remain engaged, builds up their own ideas and opinions and builds lifelong skills such as problem solving, testing out hypotheses, and working with others.
Adriana looks forward to many more years nurturing and supporting the Lagoon Playgroup’s students and families as they help shape and contribute to our community.
