Under the direction of the Director/Teacher, parents have the unique opportunity to actively participate in school events and engage in the classroom on assigned work days.
In addition to working in the classroom, parent commitments include providing snack, attending a monthly parent meeting, participating in school fundraising, joining a school committee and accompanying their child on educational field trips.
The Lagoon is a special place not just for the kids but for the parents too. At the Lagoon, Brooklyn can be herself, make decisions and have space to flourish. The lagoon allows children to use their own minds to problem solve, create and just BE. We loved the emphasis put on open ended art, analyzing books that were read and freedom of movement. Children this age need to run, breath fresh air and get their hands dirty and that is what makes the Lagoon such a magical experience. Ms. Adriana has such a playful and joyful spirit and loves to inspire the kids in play. Ms. Katy shares her passion for art and nature by giving the kids the freedom to explore art in unique ways. They work together so beautifully and bring so much to the Lagoon.
